Abstract

The availability of paracetamol tablet using jack fruit starch (Arthocarpus heterophyllus Lamk) as binder has been carried out. Tablet were prepared by wet granulatin with binder 29% w/v and as standard was used a binder cassava starch 10 % w/v. The research was perfomed using three ways cross over designs on six male rabbits of 1,6 kg body weight, had the same age and food habit the rabbit after oral administration. Plasma levels were analyzed by Bratton-Marshal method and absorbances were measured spectrophotometrically. The results showed that the pharmacokinetics parameters of paracetamol after the administration of tablet with binder jack fruit starch, were not significantly different from that with cassava starch. The relative bioavailability of the two kinds of tablet to innovator tablets were 99,64 % and 106 30 % respectively
