Abstract
ABSTRACT
Body scrub of the ethanolic extract of Garcinia cowa Roxb. rinds have been formulated two formulas were prepared containing the extract 1,5% and 3%. The extract were obtained by percolation and it were characterized including content of extract, decrease of drainage, total dust value, and water value. Body scrub was formulated as o/w cream with rice flour as scrub and Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) as moisturizer. The body scrub were subjected to evaluation procedures including organoleptic, homogeneity, pH value, type of cream, washable test, stability test, spreadability test, distribute of particle size, skin irritation test, and hedonic test. Results showed that two formulas were stable physically during 4 cycle in stability test with freeze and thaw method. Hedonic test indicated that F2 (3%) was the most preffered.
