Abstract

Effect of addition of Cd(II) and Fe(III) ions to the transportation through a bulk liquid membrane technique were investigated. It was found that Cd(II) ion had no effect to the Cu(II) transport. The percentage of the copper (II) transport decreased from 97,3 % to 58,2 % in receiving phase but the concentration of Fe(III) ion (4-20 ppm) increased in the source phase. Both Cd(II) and Fe(III) ions could not be detected in the receiving phase. It showed that, the kind of technique was selective for Cu(II) transport in the presence of Cd(II) and Fe(III) ions. Based on E value analysis, the influence of Cd(II) is larger than Fe(III) to the Cu(II) transport.
