Abstract

The effect of a-mangostin on total cholesterol levels, trigliserida, HDL and LDL in blood of white male mice induced by high cholesterol diet consist of palm oil and fat with ratio 5:1 during 7 days was studied. The experiment was divided into six groups those were positive control, negative control, the comparison group with given gemfibrozil 156156 mg/kg BW, and 3 various doses (30, 100 and 300 mg/kg BW). The total cholesterol. Triglyceride, HDL and LDL was measured at the day 8 by using the enzymatic method with spectrophotometer UV-VIS.
