Abstract

Determination of ascorbic acid with o-phenanthroline have been spectrophotometrically . Optimum condition was found at λ=508 nm, pH 5.0 - 6.0 reaction completion, after 10 minutes. The method have been used to determine the concentration of ascorbic acid in citrus fruits from Malee (guana juice). The result showed that fruit contained 227.6 ppm ascorbic acid with recovery of 100.96%, and relative standard deviation of 1.35%.
