Abstract
Informal sector stood very big in Indonesian economics. But choice enters informal sector often is taken by going to the wall requirement of life, than not cooperates once. Earnings yielded from informal business implemented just for living. Not like formal worker wage which intervenced by government through pegging of Province Minimum Wage, informal labor wage got out of government interference. This research aim to analyse relative prosperity of informal worker with analysing factors influencing informal labor fringe benefit above Province Minimum Wage in West Sumatera . And the second purpose is to compile policy for improvement of prosperity of informal worker. Data applied is tape data result of Survey Usaha Terintegrasi ( SUSI) on 2004. The result got from the research it is that only one-third from informal worker earning is same or bigger than Province Minimum Wage. While difference of business location, business field, work time and number of legal capitals influences probabilita informal worker to obtain same earnings or bigger than Province Minimum Wage.Therefore matter able to be taken for improvement of prosperity of labour is policy with aim to increase informal labour productivity and give informal worker access to legal capital easier.
