Abstract

The works of a firm will be bad if they do not pay attention to the negative effects on environment from their activities. If the works of a firm was not suitable with the AMDAL (an anlysis of environmental effects), thus there was non compliance in law. For protecting and stopping the polluted activities, we need to have law treatment. The aims of this research are : 1) Knowing whether the firm or industry at Padang City have fulfill the requirement in document of AMDAL (an anlysis of environmental effects, UKL (an effort of environmental management), UPL (an effort of environmental control). 2) Knowing how is the law treatment especially about environment law that Padang City has done. 3) Knowing the factors that become the barriers in environmental law treatmentat Padang City. From the result of this research the writer can get some conclusion are : from several industry in and UPL document, however there is one industry which have not met the requirements yet, these is PT. Abai Siat. Some factors as a barrier of the environmental law treatment in Padang City are less of knowledge and society participation, limited capitals, less of PPNS that handle the environmental problems and less of experts.
