Abstract

An analysis on mechanical properties of brick samples from three different places in West Sumatera (Sarojo Bukittinggi, Koto Nan IV Payakumbuh and Tapakis Lubuk Alung) has been carried out. Based on data collected from mechanical properties testing procedure, there are some factors differentiating mechanical properties of samples from one place to another which are composition, draining time (related to characteristic of raw material/clay), temperature and duration. Overall, mechanical properties of brick samples from Sarojo Bukittinggi relatively good but still far below from SII standard
