Abstract

Abstrak Pembelajaran klinik merupakan esensi dari pendidikan keperawatan yang ditujukan untuk mencapai kompetensi mahasiswa sebagai seorang profesional. Oleh karena itu, pengalaman pembelajaran klinik yang berbeda-beda terutama pengalaman klinik pertama penting untuk digali agar proses pembelajaran dapat berjalan secara optimal. Telah dilakukan penelitian kualitatif, studi fenomenologi bertujuan untuk mengekplorasi, memahami dan memberi makna dan arti pengalaman klinik pertama bagi mahasiswa keperawatan di kota Padang. Enam orang partisipan diambil secara purposive sampling berpartisipasi dalam wawancara mendalam. Hasil wawancara ditranskrip secara verbatim dan diolah dengan menggunakan analisis tema. Empat tema utama muncul yaitu “menjadi ketakutan”, “perbedaan teori dengan praktek”, “kebanggaan menolong pasien” dan “perasaan ditinggalkan”. Disarankan agar pihak institusi pendidikan lebih memperhatikan program persiapan pembelajaran klinik pertama agar proses pembelajaran berjalan optimal. Kata kunci: pembelajaran klinik, pengalaman pertama, studi fenomenologi Abstract Clinical education is an essential part of nursing education that has purpose to achieve students’ competencies as a professional nurse. As a result, experience of clinical education that takes place differently among nursing students especially initial clinical experience becomes important to be explored so the learning process can run optimally. The qualitative research, a phenomenology study was conducted to explore, understand and give meanings of initial clinical experience of nursing students in Padang. Six participants that were selected by purposive sampling participated in an in-depth interview. Interview then was transcribed verbatim and analysed by thematic analysis. There were four main themes emerged from this study that is “being fear”, “gap between theory and practice”, “being proud to help patients”and “feeling abandoned”. It is suggested that nursing education institutions need to pay attention in preparation program of initial clinical education so the learning process can run optimally.
