Abstract
The aims are to describe the partnership business profile farmers and farmers independently, to analyze differences in average income between plasma farmers independent farmers, as well as to analyze the level of empowerment of the farmers plasma with independent farmers in the South Tapanuli.
This research used quantitative methods, which conducted by survey method. The number of farmers plasma samples are 30 breeder was taken by Simple Random Sampling, and as a comparison sample was also taken 9 independent farmers by using snowball sampling technique. The data analysis uses the analysis of income as well as analysis the scores of the empowerment described in descriptive method.
The results showed that there is no real differences between the average income of farmers plasma with independent farmers, while the average income plasma broiler farmers on the scale <5.000 tail (x ̅ = 4.000 tail) was Rp 1.144/tail, the the scale 5.000 - <10.000 tail ( x ̅ = 6.400 tail) was Rp 1.776/tail well as on the scale ≥ 10.000 tail (11.875 tail) was Rp 2.330/tail/breeding period, the median income was Rp. 1.750 plasma farmers / tail while independent farmers earned income amounted 2.645/tail/breeding period.
Empowerment levels of plasma farmer and independent broiler faremers in Southern Tapanuli is middle category, thus empowerment level between plasma farmers with independent farmers were not significantly different in Southern Tapanuli, North Sumatera.
