Abstract
THE EFFECT OF SOME CONCENTRATION OF “ RAPID ROOT” ON THE OF cuttings OF DRAGON FRUIT PLANTS

ABSTRACT
An experiment on the effect of several concentrations of “Rapid Root” on the growth of cuttings of dragon fruit plants has been carried out at a greenhouse of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Andalas from November 2010 to February 2011. The purpose of this experiment was to observe the influence of “Rapid Root” and to get the best concentration of “ Rapid Root” on the growth cuttings of dragon fruit plants..
This experiment a Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replicates. Treatments werw concentrations of “Rapid Root” 0 , 150 , 300 , 450, and 600 ppm. Observations including time to shoot emergence, number of shoots, shoot length, root number and root length. Data were analyzed with F test and Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. Results show that the application of “Rapid Root” stimulated the emergence of shoots, and number of shoots of dragon fruit plants.
The concentration of 150 ppm of “Rapid Root” resulted in the best growth response.
