Abstract

ABSTRACT Firdaus, Vashti. 2014. Association between Histopathology Grading and Lymphovascular Infiltration with Molecular Subtypes of Invasive Breast Cancer at Surgery Department, Dr. M. Djamil Hospital Padang . Undergraduate Thesis, Faculty of Medicine, Andalas University. Supervisor : (I) dr. Aswiyanti Asri, M.Si.Med, SpPA, (II) dr. Daan Khambri, SpB (K) Onk, M. Kes. Keywords : histopathology grading, lymphovascular infiltration, molecular subtypes, invasive breast cancer. Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer found among women worldwide. In Indonesia, breast cancer is also the most common cancer suffered by Indonesian women. Breast cancer symptoms are often not recognized or clearly perceived by the patient, so it makes most of patients come to doctor in late stage. It will certainly affect the patient's prognosis and cure rate. Breast cancer is divided into in situ breast cancer and invasive breast cancer. In situ breast cancer is cancer that has not penetrated the basement membrane, whereas invasive breast cancer is cancer that has penetrated the basement membrane to enter the stroma. Many factors affect the prognosis of breast cancer , including in situ breast cancer / invasive breast cancer, metastatic to the lymph/other organs, tumor size, histopathology grading, estrogen and progesterone receptors, HER2, and lymphovascular infiltration . The design study was observational and analytic , ie to determine the association between histopathology grading and lymphovascular infiltration with molecular subtypes of invasive breast cancer at surgery departement, Dr . M. Djamil hospital, Padang period January 1, 2010 - December 31, 2013. In this study obtained 424 cases of invasive breast cancer, with only 66 cases that could be analyzed. From the result of this study showed that most invasive breast cancer is on the luminal B molecular subtype and triple negative moleculer subtype, most of it in grade II, and most of it has occured lymphovascular infiltration. From the calculation of the correlation coefficient, which is to determine the association between histopathology grading and molecular subtypes in invasive breast cancer found a significant correlation and association between lymphovascular infiltration and molecular subtypes in invasive breast cancer also found a significant correlation.
