Abstract
ABSTRACT ISOLATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF SECONDARY METABOLISM COMPOUND FROM ACTIVE FRACTION TO ANTIOXIDANT ASSAY OF KERAI PAYUNG LEAVES EXTRACT (Filicium decipiens) by : Adrial Bahri (BP : 0910412069) Bustanul Arifin, M.Si and Dr. Afrizal Isolation of triterpenoid compound from leaves of Filicium decipiens have been done. Isolation did by maseration method used methanol and fractionation using n-hexane, ethyl acetate and water. Antioxidant activity of all fraction has tested by DPPH method. From these fraction, ethyl acetate has highest antioxidant activity with IC50 55,12 mg/L. Compound of ethyl acetate fraction separated by column chromatography used silica gel as stationary phase and nhexane : ethyl acetate as mobile phase by SGP (Step Gradien Polarity). 2 mg of isolated compound was obtain which gave single spot in every eluent. Isolated compound was characterisation by Lieberman Burchard, UV spectrometer and IR spectrometer. The result recommended that isolated compound was triterpenoid type which has C=O carbonyl, C-H aliphatic and C=C alkene. Keywords : Kerai payung, triterpenoid, antioxidant
