Abstract
In the 2004 elections, the number of women as candidates who advanced to Regional Parliament of West Sumatera are as many as 26 people from as many as 60 candidates or 43,33 percent. Number of women candidates of PBB West Sumatera is 7 of 32 people or as many as 21,87 percent, but women of The PBB who managed to become a members of regional parliament of West Sumatera 2004-2009 period as 2 out of 5 members of the PBB of West Sumatera. While none of the PKS women who become Members of Regional Parliament of West Sumatra, although during this period there were 7 people into Regional Parliament of West Sumatra members of the PKS. To that end, please note that the recruitment pattern applied to the PKS and the PBB in the 2004 elections. The author uses the theory of recruitment Alan ware is suggested that in the political recruitment, in general, there are five ways in the selection procedure for legislative candidates to direct the selection to a more democratic system. Approach to the research method used is a qualitative. The research took place in West Sumatra and supported a variety of data from the PBB office in Jakarta. Data used to support this research is in-depth interviews with selected informants with informants withdrawal technique used was snowball technique . These research findings demonstrate that the pattern of recruitment conducted by PKS in the 2004 elections conducted by the patron - client pattern and nepotism , which is a candidate was a close friend and wife . PBB recruitment patterns done with click patterns , where the factor the origin organization between KAPPU team, chairman of DPW PBB and candidates, affect the position of the serial number in the 2004 elections .
