Abstract

PT Trakindo Utama conducted a pilot project for Environmental Management System (EMS) ISO 14001: 2004 in some branches. In Sumatra, Palembang Branch became the first to implement EMS audit and has obtained ISO 14001: 2004 from SAI Global at the end of 2013 ago. This study measures the benefits of implementing the EMS, both from the environmental aspects and the financial aspects, hope that it can be a driving force in implementing environmental management voluntarily by the company. The results showed that during 2013/2014, primarily the company succeeded improving their environmental performance and managed to sell and obtained some contracts from the customers who required the implementation of EMS and the fulfilment of environmental regulations.
