Abstract
This writing is aimed at describing the Indonesian language teaching to foreigners through one of daily activities namely having meals in depot. The main aim is to describe (1) the effectiveness of teaching Indonesian language by such method and (2) how to evaluate the success of this method. The important side of this writing is the answers of the questions ‘what are the benefits and the weaknesses of going to depot to have meals’ as the method of teaching Indonesian language to foreigners. Besides, the aspects of Indonesian culture is also analyzed. The analysis is based on the writers’ observation and experience during their staying in Yogyakarta.
