Abstract

A field study about several dosages of tithonia (Ththonia diversifolia) compost on growth and yield of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata) was carried out at a rice field in subdistrict Pauh, Padang from June to September 2006. The objective of the experiment was to determine a suitable dosage of tithonia compost to promote growth and yield of sweet corn. The experimental units were arranged in a Completely Randomized Design. The treatments were dosages of tithonia compost i.e : 0, 5, 10, 15, and 20 ton/ha with four replicates. Results demonstrated that 5 ton/ha of thithonia were suitable to increase growth and yield of sweet corn. . Key word : dosage, tithoniaa, growth, yield, sweet corn
