Abstract

Synthesis was carried out in three steps. The first steep was a reaction between posphorus trichloride, alumunium chloride and l,2-dichloroethane at 500 C for 48 hours. The temperature was lowered to -20 l-fc thto water was added. The result r"^ purified by a vacuum distilation' The product of first step was then esterfiz;d with benryl alcohol in benzena as the solvent and pyridine as hydrochloric acid trap that was released during reaction' The reaction was performe d fot }4hours at room temperature' The product was purified by column chromatography using silica gel as the absorbent and a mixture of hexane and acetone (9 : 1) as the solvent' The third srep was releasing benzll gIoup by hydrogenation using palladium in carbon as catalyst ani ethanol as the solvent' Hydrogenation was carried out at room temperature and atmosphericpressure. The product obtained after releasing thi solvent was pure' no furthcr purification was needed.
