Abstract

The population of Morus ,nacrourdmiq in X Koto rubdistrict, Tanah Datar, 'West Sumatera 'was accounted from january until July D9a by surveying all sites was zuspected or knovrn as its habitat. The dedectable individuals vras devided according to seedling, sapling. pole and tree. The interview was conducted with the slash and burn cultivators to get datas pertaining their knowledge about this plant. The Rerult showed that there were 35 rssdlings, 21 saplings, 31 poles and 85 trees. Meanwhile the interview showed that 700/o of the slash and burn cultivators knew this plant very well, 100% knew its potentiaJ,,0o/o knew that this plant as identity plant of 'West Sumatera Province. 0% knew that this plant was tlreatened and imperriled. 100% knew that this plant ever saw this plant and 0% ever propagated it. Based on The Survival Service Commission for Plants and Animals of ruCN categories the status of this plant was vulnerable.
