Abstract

This study investigated the inhibiting factor _of Dewa leaves extracts (Gynura procumbens (Lour) Merr) at subanaesthetic dosage on the hepatotoxic of mice. The results shows that the administration of the extract with the concentration of 0.115% at the dose of 0.25 ml/day before halothane gas treatmentcould inhibit liver disorder at the 3rd and 6th week of treatment, while the administration of 0.25 ml/day of the extract with the concentration 0.459% could inhibit the liver disorder at the 3rd, 6rd and 12rd week of treatment These results showed that the extract of Dewa leaves possesed an antihepatotoxic property and an antioxidant activity.
