Abstract

An effect of ethanol-water ratio as extraction solvent in gaining an extract, phenolic content and antioxidant activity of Psidium guajava Linn. leaves have been investigated. The ethanol-water ratio tested were 100:0, 80:20, 70:30, 60:40,50:50 and 40:60 respectively. Results revealed that the ethanol-water ratio had significant effect on extractive obtainability, phenolic content and antioxidant activify (p<0,05). Among the ethanil-water ratio tested, the best result was obtained by ethanol-water ratio 50:50 as extraction solvent for psidium guajava Linn. leaves.
