Abstract

The constituent steroid of the n-hexane fraction of the non polar extract of A.Speciosa's dried leaves was fraction by gradient elution with n-hexane-EtOAc. The steroid isolated is a sterol of stigmastan's group as a colorless needless crystal (m.p : 132-134oC). Based on the 13C-NMR and 1H-NMR spectra compared to β-sitosterol spectra, the steroid is isolated was suggested as the mixtures of β-sitosterol and stigmasterol.
