Abstract
The prototype of vibrating screen, which was made in PT Semen Padang and called PGSP PRO-2, use some unbalance mass to excite vibration. It was tested at several unbalance mass rotation, declination of the deck, capacity and grodation of bulk material. In this exenment, bulk material was divided into 3 parts, that is bigger than screen mesh size (w), between w/2 and w, and smaller than w/2. For testing to Silica Sand with capacity 5.4 t/h and percentage of each size of bulk material 33,33 %, it was shown that the optimum performance can be obtained at declination of the deck about 13.5 o to 16 o, and unbalance mess rotation about 903 rpm to 986 rpm. The efficiency of the prototype of vibrating screen at optimum condition is about 90 % to 92 %. It was also shown that by decreasing capacity and by increasing percentage of bulk material which is smaller than w/2, the higher screening efficiency can be obtained.
