Abstract

Abstract: Partnership in agribusiness that is typically interpreted as a contractual farming between the farmers and their partners seems to be a pretending partnership. Therefore, as their partnership only presents an exploitative type of relationships, farmers interest in increasing their prosperity would be fitfuIIy and randomly to cope with. After obseruing precedence of_ agribusiness partnership in West Sumatra, this paper proposes an ideal scheme of partnership for fully integrated agribusiness system. In this scheme, the farmers and their partners have to share costs and benefits implied by the agribusiness system, as the consequences of their togetherness in handling the risks both in the on-farm and in the off-farm. Therefore, the reall focus of the government's intervention and policy is to promote such a kind of partnership. Kata Kunci: kemitraan, usahatani-bersama, sistem agribisnis bersama.
