Abstract
An automated continuous monitoring method for total phosphorus content in waste water using microflow technique has been developed. The method based on absorption of molybdenum blue and detected with spectrophotometric detection. The sample, oxidizing reagent and colouring rmgent are continuously pumped at the flow rates of 200, 100 and 100 L/min, respectively. The decomposed solution is mixed with the colouring reagent to perform molybdenum blue compiex and then introduced into the flow cell and detected at 880 nm. The method was successfully applied to the completely continuous rnonitoring of total phosphorus in waste water from chemical laboratories.
