Abstract
Morus macroura Miq. called andalas tree is a Mascot flora of West Sumatra. The tree upto 30 m height and diameter up to 224 cm. Male and female flowers separated.Investigation from September 1992 to April 1993 showed that in Simpang, Panca and Tigo Suku sub- villages of Paninjauan village, Tanah Datar Regency has 20 andalas trees consisted of trees with female flowers (12), with male flowers (5) and with unknown identities (3). The spikes of female flowers are 5.4 to 24 cm long fallen after 4 to 5 weeks. While those of male flowers are 9 to 24 cm long and fallen after 3 to 4 weeks respectively. The trees which spread in the valley of Merapi singgalang and Sago mountains have very low population.
