Abstract

Most problems faced by the farmer at Zelti farm, Lubuk Minturun, Padang city was low in nutrients quality and quantity of feed that cause to low beef cattle productivity. This condition was estimated due to deficiencies in several nutrients especially in protein, minerals and vitamins content. To solve this problems the demonstration and practice of making and producing of blood meal, rumen content meal and bone meal as by product of slaughter house as sources of protein, vitamins and minerals have been done. In this activities also has been done extension, making blood meal, rumen content meal and bone meal and doing field activities by giving that feeds to beef cattle and evalunte their effect on their performance. From the practice of feeding cattle by using blood meal, rumen content meal and bone meal indicated that increase on feed consumption and body weight of animals. From the evaluation of this activities, shown that the farmer very antuciastic to making blood meal, rumen content meal and bone meal from slaughter house by products as a feed supplement of beef cattle. The farmers also want to perform good farm management and feeding systems.
