Abstract

The development of middle and small industry (UIKM) have to be pushed and growed to race a higher economic growth and improve society participation in the development activity. This is important, considering that UIKM give more opening job opportunity to the public. That is a reason why the growth of UIKM takes a strategic contribution in the acceleration of area development. Moreover if attributed to the economic condition of Kabupaten Nias society that weaker after earhquake happen in the area on March 28th, 2005, where is disaster have destroyed the economics life of Kabupaten Nias society. To restore and pursue the left behind in development and economic growth, developing UIKM is very precise to be executed immediately. This research aim to (1) Evaluating reqirement of UIKM in Kabupaten Nias after the earthquake disaster that happen on March 28th, 2005. (2) Engineering an institution development model of UIKM in Kabupaten Nias. This research concluded that to answer and realize the objective above, hence a sinergic institution is required to develop UIKM in Kabupaten Nias. LIB Tano Niha is representative and relevant enough to meet the needs of Kabupaten Nias society, so that thereby can be made as one of the alternative to develop UIKM or the other that to economics in Kabupaten Nias.
