Abstract
This research shows that is increase of population account and do the law that can be ulayat land certificated along with city development that causes the smash ownership system and using of ulayat land in Minangkabau system of urban matrilineal kins. In this conditions, rising divergence and strained situation between individu who is not suit with function of kins tie. Changing ownership structure and using ulayat land, it is not conflict with constitution of custom, so function of matrilineal kins constants strong in Minangkabau matrilineal. The functional structurally, system of Minangkabau matrilineal relatives can still held out because the changing happens through social differenciation.
