Abstract

Workshop PT Semen Padang produces products for its owns and take some orders from outside (consumers). One of the products is Jet Pulse Filter (JPF) INV-54. So far, Workshop PT Semen Padang hasn’t done the right and accurate calculation for time process of making JPF INV-54. In that case, determination of direct cost is still an estimation. Determination of direct cost is needed to do, so a company could know how much is the real cost to make a product. To make a right and accurate direct cost, we have to know the process and standard time that is needed in making a product. To easier the related people in determine direct cost of JPF INV-54, in the research, researcher design a direct cost software. This software based on database that’s made by Microsoft Access program. This database made in a program language by using Visual Basic 6 program. With this software, the related people will be easy in determine the direct cost of JPF INV-54. In a manual determination, we will need a long enough time in determine the direct cost if the changing in related factors happened, such as price and standard time. Besides, with the software that’s been design, determination of direct cost can be done just in seconds, if changing factors happened. Based on the research that’s been done, where price factor didn’t change as long as the research, the direct cost of making 1 unit of JPF INV-54 is Rp 24,720,319.02 Keywords: Standard time, direct cost, software, database
