Abstract

Abstract The focus of the research is to develop a prototype of Abstract Algebra learning material base on APOS theory. APOS theory using ACE teaching cycle that consists of three components: activities, classroom discussion, and exercises. The type of this research is a developmental research. Procedure in this research consists of need assessment, literature review of APOS theory and Abstract Algebra curriculum, designing the prototype of learning material, and evaluation. The research is conducted in one year focusing on producing a valid learning material. The designed prototype was validated by two qualified Abstract Algebra reviewers. The reviewers state that the designed prototype fulfilled the criteria of content and construct validity. Key words: APOS theory, learning material, abstract algebra
