Abstract
The ability of moss (Musci) for the adsorption of iron, cadmium, copper, chromium and zinc in waste water have been investigated. Several parameter that can affact metals uptake such as particle size in the range 150 -425 prn , weigh of the moss, concentration of metal ion, heating temperaflre and heating time of the moss were described. The metal ion concentrations is analyzed by using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry. At the optimal condition metal ions was sorbed by moss in the range BB-95%, except for the Cr(VI) where the sorption effeciency is 35%. The method was applied to the removal of metal ions present in waste water of Cement Padang Industry and bengkel Utama Motor where sorption effeciency is 51 to 91%.
